Increasing Your Energy The Healthy Way

Posted on: 11 June 2016

When you find yourself constantly struggling to maintain your energy throughout the day, your first instinct may be to grab yourself a triple shot of espresso or grab a soda or sugary energy drink and keep plowing through your day. However, while those options will give you the caffeine boost you may be looking for, they are not necessarily the healthiest ways that you can increase your energy. Coffee and espresso are highly acidic and soda and energy drinks are both acidic and sugary, not to mention full of artificial chemicals. Get to know some healthy alternatives for ways to increase your energy so that you can get the boost you need without harming your health.

Drink More Water

While you may not think that water will give you the energy boost that you have been looking for, there is a good chance that drinking a nice glass or bottle of cold water will greatly improve your energy levels. One of the symptoms of dehydration that people are not familiar with is fatigue and tiredness.

Your midday exhaustion could be due, at least in part, to not having enough water in your body. Get a big glass of water and get hydrated. You will likely feel back to normal quickly and may not even need any other form of energy boost.

Healthy Energy Drinks

There are different types of energy drinks available on the market, the key is to make sure you buy healthy energy drinks rather than those that are full of sugar and harsh chemicals. When you are looking for energy drinks, look for ones that are green tea-infused.

Green tea is a healthy drink that is full of antioxidants and is good for your health overall. It also happens to have natural caffeine in it. However, unlike the manufactured chemical caffeine in other drinks, the levels of caffeine in green tea are more manageable for the body and do not cause a major energy crash when the effects wear off.

You can also look for energy drinks that use black tea or green coffee extract in them as both of these are also natural sources of caffeine and energy. Healthy energy drinks are also often infused with vitamin C and other vitamins and minerals. These nutrients provide the cells in your body with the fuel they need to keep your body going and make you feel more energized.

Now that you know a few ways that you can increase your energy in a healthy way, you can be sure that you make the right choices the next time you are feeling an energy lull during the day.
